Maybe, just maybe… that's what President Trump had planned….
It was a statement to Mitch McConnell that he wasn't going get his way.

Trump's supporters are fully behind Trump on the NFL issue. But Roy Moore is much nearer to the issues Trump ran on in the Presidential election than Trump now is or than Luther Strange is. Trumpism is bigger than Trump. His supporters will still support Trump against those who want to bring Trump down, but they won't support Trump on particular issues if they feel Trump is moving away from Trumpism (which is what got him elected in the first place).

actually Trump said very succintly that if Strange loses to Moore he would then support him 100% And he said it twice

Trumps loss isn't something to be celebrated by the liberals if they actually know what that means.

Trump supported the establishment to keep them happy while releasing his campaign to support the candidate of choice.

Not really. Moore represents Trump's agenda much better than Strange. That's why Steve Bannon, who campaigned for Moore told Trump supporters that vote for Moore is a vote for Trump essentially. In that sense, those who voted for Moore still support Trump despite the fact that they didn't vote for the candidate Trump endorsed. Also, it was a pretty weird endorsement I should say. It sounded like Trump was pressured by the establishment to do that. Otherwise, he would've gladly endorsed Moore.

The only thing Trump's fan base are upset about is not being strong enough against DACA and Obamacare. If you think it has to do with the NFL rhetoric you completely missed the mark.

That's why they voted for someone even further to the right.

Straight and to the point sum up. Trump flips-flops all the time.He was willing to support whoever won and have no rationle. He knows so little about governance trying to reassure himself via his base while caught between Bannon and McConnell.

I think Tim Black has this figured out – and is laying it down in his own cool way. I'm looking at this disaster vote a bit differently. Thanks, Tim. (But it all still sucks)

Alabamians didn't vote for Big Luther because, as AG, he delayed impeachment proceedings on the man that appointed him and resigned. I'm not on the Trump train, but I'm smart enough to know that he couldn't back Ol' Roy because of the crazy stuff he says/does; bless his heart. We had a choice of cat shit or dog shit and it appears we chose cat shit?

Roy Moore is a huge Trump supporter.  What is happening is what Bernie was trying to do if he won the presidency.  Bernie wanted to promote or get progressives into the democrat party and take it over.  This is what is happening to the republican party via no support from Trump.  They see the party not doing their job because of establishment politicians so they are going to replace as many as they can in 2018 so they can support Trump's agenda.  Also Trump will pass anything that comes to his desk either from democrats or republicans so whoever reaches his desk first wins, and I can tell you nothing will get done in D.C until the establishment are replaced.

You have a clearly biased agenda. We are under attack. A UNITED States sees the time to counter the attack is now. To continue to divide this nation with constant streams of taking-a-knee jerk reactions when a crisis against us is under way is harmfully throwing gas onto the fire that they have started. I'm not with that.

Not really though. His closest friends backed Roy Moore. He had to back McConnell puppet. If you look at his rally for Strange. It was hardly backing Strange.

May be a loss for trump as far as his endorsement, but that’s as far as it goes. This is ultimately a win win for trump, as he pandered to the establishment, AND the anti establishment candidate won. It’s kind of funny watching the MSM try to frame this as a big trump loss, when in reality, it isn’t at all and it’s a sign that the establishment is in trouble.
