    Sowell is amazing. A truly honest man in every respect. I know of few people I can say that about. What a life.

    I like Tom Sowell but he's dead wrong on this issue history do matter John Calhoun was the worst person a racist bigot thief and scoundrel so lets not make it right lets continue to honor heathens because it on place and that was a long time ago he and others kill me when they think apology are the only thing that makes it right or they always brig up other countries and what they done as to say if it was ok then then its ok now Did anybody say that about the Jews in Germany? No ourconggressional leaders fought like he'll for them to get restitution and to do away with symbolism and hatred you don't see symbolism such as swastika on public building and other degrading reminder s to keep fear on those who suffered humiliation death and destruction we fought for their freedom and oppression Oh but blacks in America don't get that same treatment no restitution no doing away with symbolism vulgar. And hatred just more of it Blacks in America will never be made whole because the argument is always it was a long time ago…well the Jewish holocaust was 80 years ago was that a long time ago? Double that number then you would be in 1857 slavery in America no pay for work, lynchings castration beatings humiliation no freedom and liberty scorned no voting rights bad living conditions no nutrition. Rape!! Sexual Harassment dann I'm tired talk,g about because its to much more to emphasize but does America care what happen not really because the U.S. is guilty for crimes against humanity and wants to cover it up with an apology Really!! America has no conscience or morals they want everyone else to do right but America won't..

    And he said: Go and tell this people—Hear ye indeed, but they understood not; and see ye indeed, but they perceived not.

    Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes—lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and be converted and be healed.

    Then said I: Lord, how long? And he said: Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate;

    And the Lord have removed men far away, for there shall be a great forsaking in the midst of the land.

    Thomas Sowell smashes many preconceived notions on so many levels. An American mythbuster icon who can eloquently convey complex issues in the simplest terms that everyone can understand and identify with.

    I admire Thomas Sowell and I wish his legacy would more known by the younger generation, white and blacks. I agree with another comment. He is underappreciated.

    POint: I saw a documentary on servants in England in the 18th up to early 20th century. They were white and where treated horribly by their masters. However, I realize it wasn't as bad as my ancestors in this country treated black slaves. Also he mentioned the creation in the Bible, slavery is mentioned throughout the Bible. It has existed throughout history of humankind.

    Thank you, Thomas. The thought of you finally being able to be at peace with leaving the political world behind is heartwarming. Your ideas will spread further than you could ever know, regardless of your current involvement.
