Spice From ‘LHHATL’ Sends Fans into Frenzy With ‘Bleached’ Skin: ‘Self Hate at its Finest’

Spice of Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta” fame has a whole new look, which she recently shared on Instagram.

But the dancehall artist didn’t just show off a style makeover or a new hairdo, she debuted her lighter colored skin. Some accused her of bleaching her skin, others believ it’s make up or a bodysuit. Spice said the look was a brand new start for her.

“Nothing wrong with a fresh start,” she captioned the photo. She also asked people to support her new mixtape, but many said they couldn’t get past the dramatic change.

“Oh hell no b–ch. I’m not supporting your music anymore,” someone wrote. “[You] went from Spice to baking soda.”

“This is supposed to be Spice from ‘Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta?’ another person asked. “What in the snowflake dipped in flour and white rice is this?”

Others pointed out that bleaching one’s skin has become far more popular in Spice’s home country of Jamaica in recent times. In fact, the imprisoned dancehall artist Vybz Kartel, who Spice is affiliated with, bleached his skin years ago.

Before posting her new look, the reality star announced that she was going on Instagram Live at 1:00 p.m. EST to share something major. She’s been off social media for a little while, which seemed to add some drama to her post.

“Missed you all so much,” wrote Spice before sharing the photo. “Get ready.”

She also posted her new look on Twitter, and folks didn’t like it over there either.

“You were more beautiful when you were Black,” someone wrote.

“I hope it’s a prank,” tweeted another. “She looks bad.”

“Spice, hurry up and go bathe,” a third person suggested.

But some believe the dancehall artist didn’t bleach her skin at all, and she’s merely promoting her new single “Black Hypocrisy” with the photo.

“People are really restarted. It’s just a joke. Do you not see the body suit. Her tatoos are gone. Use the brain people,” said one fan.

”Shut up. LOL so she bleached her tatoos too? It’s makeup,” said another fan.

“When you go the extra to release a mix tape,” another fan commented.

The dancehall artist stated she changed her complexion to please her fans.

“As a Black woman I’m mostly called Black in my own race. I try to please them so I’m gonna see what they have to say, because of them, I’ve changed my complexion a bit. So I’m just pleasing them,” she said.
