She knew she was wrong and she got caught. As a teacher she wants to take the splinter out of his eye while keeping the beam in her own eye. Looks like the pot calling the kettle black. It's a wash and she need to move on. She was more so wrong than he was. Say sorry for not obeying the traffic rules and keep it moving. Stupid get what stupid does. What would your students think of you? I guess you will find out, since this is blasted all over the internet.

"He's above the law" says the woman who broke the law and rules. This teacher should be applauded, not punished. Parents go nuts in the pick up lines. Some of them feel they are more important than others and should not have to follow the rules. The rules are in place to protect the children and the people who work at the school. She's an entitled jerk.

That teacher did the right thing. The woman should be glad she didn't run over a child.

I hope that lady gets ticketed for not obeying traffic laws because she didn’t stay within the cones.

She should go to jail for breaking the law. A kid could’ve died because of her thinking she is above the law. You are running late? Suck it up lady, the rest of us have to!!!

I fully 1000% agree with coach on this one. She ignores a sign that indicates no driving through and goes over cones and she's shocked? They should charge that woman with something.

The parents, teachers, and students are caught in this struggle for the simple fact that we have a mentality that timeliness is equal being responsible and being responsible is more important than anything else. There are conflicting priorities between safety, being on time to school, to work, and the mental stress is just not worth it. We all say that being late is no excuse for being unsafe, yet when a kid is late for school even by 1 min they are punished. Where's the discussion that it was better to get here safely and be late? Do they really think that parents want to out their kids at risk? Of course not, but we're trying to fulfill the schools expectations. I think that there needs to be more flexibility with tardiness, especially when the school cannot provide a drop off system that takes a reasonable amount of time. Some schools won't let you drop off kids more than 15 minutes early yet it takes more than 20 min for the traffic to get through, those systems require tardiness. We're causing undo stress and danger because we seem to think that tardiness is a terrible things, we need to chill out, 5 min only matters if you work for a tyrant boss, why are we training our kids to work for people like that?

Rita is a perfect example of what is wrong with the world. She says, "They are above the law." WHAT? It is Rita who thinks she is above the law.

Did Rita really and truly just say that teachers are "above the law"? REALLY?!?! You were driving through an area with hundreds of kids trying to cross….because you were late?!?! Jesus Christ, lady! This is morning drop-off, not Grand Theft Auto!! Rita needs to pipe ALL the way down!

I love how she says that he thinks he’s above the law when she’s the one who decided to ignore traffic signs, go around cones, and ignore staff directions thereby putting the lives of elementary students at risk all because she was late.

Rita the world doesn't revolve around you. If he jumped on your car it HAD to be for a reason. Wait in the line Rita. Former teacher? Rita you know how hectic drop off and pick ups are. They are THE MOST hectic part of an elementary school day. Coach was probably like shid if I jump on this car she'll probably realize how important this is and stop before she approches this school bus of little kids. Safety first. There is a world around you. Coach is a hero.

He and his community actually believe that he is above the law. Wow!! He isn't a designated law enforcement officer. Hence, he has a vigilante spirit. More end times prophecies in full-effect…

The women broke the law. The sign says no driving during certain times. And what did she do, she drove through anyway. So she thinks she's above the law too!

are you kidding me this lady could have killed students and she wants to say "they are above the law" referring to the teachers didn't she think she was above the law when she turned into a closed lane possibly endangering multiple elementary school children's lives??? she is lucky it was this teacher, what if it was a parent walking their children in and she did this they might have have flattened her tires or worse or imagine if he didn't stop her and she plows through 10 or 15 kids just walking into school, this guy is the kind of teacher i want teaching my kids right from wrong when i'm not there to guide them during school hours not only should he not be punished this man should get a raise, promotion, and teacher of the year award.

If he were a cop directing traffic, she would not have drove past this man because she knew what she was doing was illegal. She literally admitted that she was in the wrong. She completely undermined his authority and is trying to get away with it by saying he reacted inappropriately.

Why was it okay for Rita to break the rules? As a teacher who has done drop off duty and bus duty, I have been cursed at, nearly hit by cars, given obscene gestures, etc just because I was trying to protect parents like Rita. Parents think it's okay to drive down the bus lane while kids are loading or unloading. They drive right past the stop signs on the buses and curse at me when I stand in front of their cars and try to tell them that they are not allowed to drive down the bus lane, and it is a state law that they have to stop when the bus's stop sign is out. These are parents like Rita, who thinks the rules don't apply to her, and wants to blame everyone else because she can't get out of bed and get her daughter to school on time. I applaud this teacher, who went to great lengths to make sure he did his job of keeping the children safe from parents like Rita.
