The only argument I have for Neil's view on God is that he doesn't account for the foundational belief of the supernatural. Of course, scientifically, the Earth could not have been made in 6 days. Although, those who believe in God do believe it was made in 6 days because God defies those scientific boundaries – after all, He created the boundaries. To add, if Neil believes in the soul, how would that compare to also believing in a creator?

God created the universe millions of years ago way before Science ever existed.

COSMOS should be rebooted every 10 years. I grew up in the 90's and never heard of it. Maybe I'd be an astrophysicist now if I had.

A warp drive looks good on paper. But in practice it is highly unlikely that it will work.

I like the ideal of grabbing asteroids … lol Maybe the expanding universe is caused by the black holes at the center of each galaxy slowly countering each other.

If I went to a different planet and saw a worm I would examine it carefully. Sometimes his opinions are too simplistic, looking for effect.

7:44 He's talking nonsense about the asteroid impact. Asteroids come in SO FAST (let's say 50,000 kph or so) and are so small (the dinosaur-killer was at most six miles long) that we would almost certainly have NO warning of their approach, not even one minute. We'd need months of warning to be able to deflect an earth-impactor.

It is NOT inexcusably egocentric to have thought that we were alone in the universe. Why do you think that? Only recently have we discovered that there are potentially millions of habitable planets in our galaxy. And there was no aliens who visited before to tell us this. So assuming that we were not alone would have been abnormal.

The world needs more smart people like neil. The universe holds amazing wonders, and amazing questions. We can only gain as a civilization from having more people like him. Neil if you died tomorrow you would have fulfilled more than more of the human species just in your life time

Not long heard of Neil and seen some defamatory remarks towards him on other channels due to his laughing nature, but this shows him in a different light. Great interview and when he gets past his jokey nature a serious extremely thoughtful guy.
