Marshawn Lynch is a man of few words but when he does say something, it’s usually powerful.

Such is the case Tuesday when the former Seattle Seahawks running back appeared on TBS’ Conan. When asked about his feelings regarding San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick silent kneeling protest during the national anthem to end police violence against unarmed black men, women and children, Lynch replied: “I’d rather see him take a knee than stand up, put his hands up and get murdered.”

“My take on it is, s–t, they got to start somewhere. I just hope people open up their eyes and see that there’s really a problem going on and something needs to be done for it to stop.”
