Racist graffiti was scrawled on the walls inside a dormitory room shared by two students at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. University and personal property in the room was vandalized.
Lehigh University President John D. Simon said in a statement: “Such a cowardly, vile and disgusting act leaves a wound that can’t be addressed as easily. This behavior will not be tolerated and will be met with severe consequences, including prosecution to the fullest extent of the law.”
Later, the university reported that a student – one of the residents of the residential unit – was arrested and charged with ethnic intimidation, institutional vandalism, and criminal mischief. The student was placed under interim suspension and is barred from campus until the case is resolved.
