Donovan Hicks, Wofford College Graduate, Named a Mitchell Scholar

Donovan Hicks, a recent graduate of Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, is one of 12 individuals selected as George J. Mitchell Scholars. The George J. Mitchell Scholarships are administered by the U.S.-Ireland Alliance. Winners of these prestigious scholarships are selected to pursue a year of postgraduate study at universities on the island of Ireland. Created in 1998, the scholarship program was named in honor of U.S. Senator George Mitchell, who was chair of the Northern Ireland peace talks.

Hicks graduated with a double major in government and finance and was a Gates Millennium Scholar. As a junior he was selected as a Truman Scholar. He also served as vice president of the student body at Wofford College. Since graduation, Hicks has been employed as an analyst at Deloitte.

As a Mitchell Scholar, Hicks will study race, ethnicity, and conflict at Trinity College Dublin.
